Real Advances in Technology that are Making a Difference

It has taken almost a century to actually implement what was science fiction in the fifties to reality.

After a life time of waiting for real advances to actually take a foothold in society, I feel disappointed to have been left out of the fun I could have had experiencing it.  This is why virtual reality has been important.  By that, I mean video gaming and video experiences like the Sony Playstation websites that allow enthusiasts to gather with their chosen avitar and socialize with like-minded fans in a futuristic environment with wild devices that work.

Since lifespans are so short, we need virtual reality in order to experience inventions before they come to the market place.  This is the real importance of VR...virtual reality.  But by VR, I mean the video games we play and fail to appreciate the environment the characters inhabit.

For instance, Deus Ex:  Human Revolution, we can experience biological enhancements of the future.  It gives us an idea of how to approach inventions of this sort and deal with them on a social scale.

Think about cars and motorcycles of the future?  Where are the going in design and how does it feel to drive them?  Again, video gaming and VR can show us where it's heading in a magnificent way.

VR and gaming has just scraped the surface of usability in my opinion.  Everything from instructions for new drills to explaining how to perform surgery.  Anything is possible.

When I was a kid, I learned how to swim from books.  I also learned martial arts by books.  Just think how much more I could have garnered from a video of the same instruction.

Verbally slamming video gaming is a bad attitude for human evolution.  Gaming is a huge evolutionary step in achieving real life.
